Scalp Micro Pigmentation

An alternative versatile and relatively low-maintenance solution for individuals

Sculpt Your Confidence with SMP: the Art of Hair Simulation

Explore the transformative world of Scalp Micro-pigmentation (SMP), a procedure designed to replicate the natural appearance of hair follicles, leaving you with a revitalised and confident image.

Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP)

Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP)

Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP): Embedding pigment to address thinning hair. SMP involves depositing colour onto the scalp, providing a non-surgical solution for various causes of hair thinning. Suitable for all hair types, including genetic hair thinning and even scars on the scalp, the procedure entails the precision application of specialised pigments using needles, mimicking the appearance of natural hair follicles.

SMP is suitable for:

  • Individuals experiencing hair thinning for any reason.
  • Those unable to achieve the desired hair density throughtraditional transplantation due to insufficient donor hair.
  • People with budget constraints.
  • Those with a fear of pain seek quick results.
  • Can Scalp Micro Pigmentation be combined with permanent hair transplantation?

Absolutely, SMP can be performed alongside permanent hair transplantation. In cases where achieving the desired hair density through transplantation is not possible, such as in patients with insufficient donor hair, SMP can complement the results. Additionally, SMP can be used to conceal scars from both FUT and FUE procedures, providing a natural look.

How many sessions are needed to see results?

Generally, to achieve the best results from SMP, a total of 3 sessions are recommended. Each session should be spaced approximately 1 week apart, allowing the skin to rest and the color to settle. The color will gradually intensify after each session and will still appear natural.

What is the process of SMP?

During Scalp Micro Pigmentation, the physician will deposit pigment onto the scalp in small dots, mimicking the appearance of natural hair follicles. This process creates a look similar to real hair roots, achieving a natural appearance.

Recovery time?

After undergoing SMP, there’s no need for recovery time. Following the procedure, there might be slight redness on the scalp that typically subsides within 1-2 days.

How long do the results last?

After undergoing 3-4 sessions of SMP, the color can last for 1-2 years. However, the fading of the color might be less than this timeframe and can vary based on various internal and external factors, such as the patient’s skin characteristics. It’s recommended to have a touch-up session after 1-2 years to maintain the color’s sharpness.

Guidelines before having SMP:
• Do not apply hair oil, styling gel, or hair fiber products within 24 hours before the SMP procedure.
• If you have a scalp rash, scalp inflammation, or any wounds on the scalp or in the vicinity of the SMP treatment area that occur before the appointment, it is advisable to inform the doctor immediately and consider rescheduling the SMP procedure to allow for proper treatment and healing.
• If you have any medical conditions, a history of medication or food allergies, or if you are taking any regular medications, it is important to inform the doctor before undergoing the procedure.
• SMP can be done at least 1 week after receiving PRP injections.
• SMP can be done at least 3 months after a hair transplant.

Post-SMP guidelines:
• Avoid washing your hair for at least 24-48 hours after the SMP procedure.
• Avoid direct exposure to heat, and sunlight, and refrain from excessive sweating or strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after the SMP procedure.
• During the first week after the procedure, wash your hair with a mild shampoo suitable for sensitive skin and avoid applying hair oil or hair fiber products.
• You can continue to consume food and medication as usual.
• During the first 1-2 weeks after SMP, some dryness and slight flaking of the scalp may occur. If excessive dryness, peeling, or scalp discomfort occurs, it is important to promptly inform the doctor.
• PRP injections can be done at least 1 week after the SMP procedure.
• Hair transplant can be done at least 1 week after the SMP procedure.
• The results of SMP will become noticeable between 2-4 weeks. It is recommended to have follow-up assessments and color touch-ups during this period.
• The results of SMP can last for 3-5 years, depending on the condition of the skin and proper scalp care.

While both techniques involve the application of pigments to the scalp, SMP is a more advanced and specialized procedure. It replicates the natural appearance of hair follicles with precision, creating a realistic and three-dimensional effect. Unlike traditional hair tattooing, SMP is tailored to match your natural hair pattern, offering a seamless and authentic look.

SMP is considered a semi-permanent solution. Over time, the pigments may fade slightly, allowing for adjustments to match changing preferences or styles. While SMP doesn’t require extensive maintenance, occasional touch-ups can be performed to ensure the longevity of the results. The flexibility of SMP allows individuals to adapt their look over the years.

SMP is a versatile solution suitable for a wide range of individuals, regardless of hair type or color. Whether you have short or long hair, straight or curly, SMP can be customized to match your unique characteristics. Ideal candidates include those looking to address hair thinning, receding hairlines, or individuals who desire a fuller and more defined look without the need for invasive procedures.
