Stem cell therapy is becoming a significant game changer for medicine after decades of rigorous research. Stem cells have been used to treat various diseases since the 1990s. Adult stem cells can be extracted from mature tissue such as bone marrow, muscle, umbilical cord, brain, and other tissue to be used as a replacement for cells that are damaged or lost.

No other cell in the body can produce different cell types naturally as stem cells do.

Stem cells offer a unique ability to regenerate which allows for a whole new range of possibilities to treat issues currently unsolved.

The body’s building blocks are stem cells which can uniquely divide numerous times, making it more and more specialised through each division. Stem cells can transform from neutral and therefore impractical cells, into the most specialised cells in the body (i.e. muscle or tissue cells) to maintain healthy living.

Providing new cells for human growth replaces specialised cells that have been depleted or damaged. This division can occur within the body naturally and in a lab to give rise to their specific roles as other cells.

At the HE Clinic, we use AABB-approved (American standard) Mesenchymal, Stem
Cells that have been derived from the umbilical cord. This derivative self-renews more effectively than mesenchymal stem cells extracted from bone marrow. Our stem cells are highly advantageous for disorders regarding the ‘blood-forming system’ which involves erectile dysfunction, sickle cell anaemia and leukaemia. A study published by Massachusetts Male Aging Study identified that 52% of a cohort of 1,290 males (40-70years) suffered from ED. Despite the privacy of the matter, this statistic highlights that this dysfunction is an issue worth discussing and that treatments are available upon request.

Recently, the use of stem cells has been implemented by doctors to restore the structural damage in the penis. The regenerative ability that stem cells possess allows their transformation into smooth muscle and neuronal cells to repair damaged muscle tissues in the penis. Stem Cell treatment for Anti-ageing: Although ageing is unavoidable, it can be prolonged
For several decades, the scientific community have encountered numerous issues regarding their understanding of why we age. Our body constitutes 37.2 trillion cells (each type serving its own purpose), which makes it difficult to pinpoint which pathways result in ageing. That is until now: ageing is entering a new era that marks an inflexion point towards prolonging both human lifespan and health span.

Tianxia Lan, a medical researcher, and other scientists have acknowledged that this specific form of stem cell is involved in the initiation, progression and metastasis of cancer. This tumour-homing property is thus advantageous for the accuracy and selectivity when coupled with anticancer drugs. Having said this, clinical trials investigating the utility of stem cells, alongside anticancer drugs, are still ongoing and will hopefully come to a beneficial conclusion that can progress cancer treatments.
