Peyronie's disease is a wound-healing condition in which fibrous scar tissue — called plaque — forms in the tunica albuginea, the layer surrounding the erectile chambers. Because scar tissue doesn't stretch like healthy tissue, the penis bends toward the plaque during erection, and may also shorten, indent, or feel painful.
It's benign, more common than most men realise, and it isn't caused by anything you did wrong. Plaque forms most often at the base, then the mid-shaft, then toward the tip.
Which Phase Are You In?
Peyronie's disease progresses in two distinct phases, and they need to be handled differently. Identifying which one you're in is the first job of your consultation — because it changes what's appropriate.
During the acute phase the penis is still changing, so corrective surgery isn't advised — a procedure done now could be undermined by further deformity later. This is where conservative, non-surgical approaches have their role. Once you reach the chronic phase and everything has stabilised, the full range of options can be properly assessed. Your consultation establishes which phase you're in before anything is recommended.
Symptoms & Causes
Common symptoms
What causes it
The exact cause isn't always clear. The prevailing understanding is that repeated micro-injury to penile tissue — often during sex or physical activity — triggers an abnormal healing response, laying down inflexible scar tissue instead of normal healing.
Genetics, connective tissue disorders and inflammation may all contribute, which is why some men develop it after an injury others recover from without issue. It is not caused by anything you did wrong, and it isn't contagious or related to infection.
How We Assess Peyronie's Disease
History & Symptoms
When it started, how it's changed, and whether pain is present — the key evidence for establishing which phase you're in.
Physical Examination
Assessing plaque location, size and firmness, along with the degree and direction of curvature.
Plan & Expectations
Options discussed — non-surgical and, where indicated, referral for surgical pathways — with measurable goals and realistic expectations.
Cellular Matrix® HA-PRP at HE Clinic
A doctor-led, non-surgical option using growth factors from your own blood combined with hyaluronic acid — prepared with Swiss-manufactured RegenLab® technology.
PRP and HA-PRP are offered as supportive options. The evidence base for conservative treatments in Peyronie's disease is still developing, and outcomes vary by patient, plaque characteristics and disease stage. We won't promise a specific degree of correction — what we will do is assess you properly, explain what's realistic for your case, and tell you if a different pathway would serve you better.

Peyronie's Disease — FAQ
What is HA-PRP and how does it work?
HA-PRP combines platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood with hyaluronic acid. PRP contains platelets and bioactive growth factors involved in the body's normal tissue repair processes; the aim is to support local tissue response in and around the plaque. It's offered as supportive care within a doctor-led plan rather than as a guaranteed structural correction.
Is HA-PRP safe?
Because the plasma comes from your own blood, there's no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. As with any injection-based procedure, temporary soreness, swelling or small marks at injection sites can occur, and infection is uncommon but possible. Your doctor will explain aftercare and when to make contact.
Why does RegenLab® make a difference?
PRP outcomes depend heavily on preparation — the concentration and composition of what's actually injected can vary widely between systems. RegenLab® uses a patented gel-based separation technology manufactured under quality-controlled standards, designed to produce a reproducible PRP composition rather than a variable one.
Can it straighten my penis completely?
We won't promise that. The evidence base for conservative treatment in Peyronie's disease is still developing, and outcomes vary with plaque characteristics, disease stage and individual response. What we offer is honest assessment, a structured plan with measurable goals, and a clear conversation about what's realistic — including telling you when a different pathway would serve you better.
Should I wait, or start treatment now?
It depends on your phase. In the acute phase, when plaque is still forming and erections may be painful, corrective surgery isn't advised — and conservative options have their clearest role. In the chronic phase, once things have stabilised, the full range of options can be assessed. Either way, early assessment is worthwhile: knowing your phase is what makes good decisions possible.
How many sessions will I need?
The typical protocol is one injection per month for at least four months, which is why the four-session course is our recommended plan. Your doctor will confirm the right number for your case at consultation and review your progress along the way.
